Sara Heaton, LCSW
Sara has several years of experience in different settings including individual therapy, group therapy, inpatient, residential group homes, outpatient, and in home therapy. Sara works with a diverse population of individuals, including LGBTQIA+, individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injury both traumatic and acquired, adults, and older adults. Sara has extended experience providing individual and group therapy to a variety of disorders and behaviors. That includes depression, anxiety, PTSD, neurodivergent, ADHD, brain injury, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, social skills, coping skills, empowerment and more.
She is dedicated to providing an open, welcoming, empathetic and collaborative environment in which clients feel safe and comfortable to express themselves without judgement. Sara enjoys working with individuals of all walks of life and using her skills as a therapist and yoga teacher to aid in growth and developing success with everyone she works with.
Sara’s therapeutic orientation is largely based in (DBT) and (CBT). Sara also uses elements of Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, trauma informed care, Solution Focused therapies, and strengths-based approaches in her practice. Her treatment is focused on the individuals’ particular needs and tailoring the treatment to unique needs.
