Adeola Akinyemi

Adeola (she/her/hers) works with children, adolescents, and adults who experience anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment issues, autism, grief and other life stressors and issues. She has experience providing individual and group therapy sessions across various age groups. She has worked in a variety of settings including schools, afterschool programs, residential programs/summer camps and college campuses with clients across a lifespan. She takes a strengths-based approach to therapy in order to empower clients to explore strengths and skill building within themselves. Adeola is intentional about meeting clients where they are at, ensuring comfort and growing with them to reach their goals and needs of support. Adeola utilizes various modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Play Therapy.

A little bit more about Adeola: "I'm Nigerian-American and was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I graduated from Boston University with my Masters in Social Work as a Clinical Practice Major. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a double minor in History and Pre-professional Health from SUNY Brockport. I am a proud first-generation college graduate and enjoy conducting and reading about research. I am passionate about including the performing arts like dance, theatre, and music and visual arts into alternative forms of therapy. In my free time, I enjoy watching live theatre plays, musicals, dance performances, cooking and reading."
